My friend and I loved this house! It was so quiet and peaceful, but close enough to everything. You definitely don't want to get to the house after dark because the road the houses are on is scary enough in the daytime. I'd recommend a small table on the porch, but other than that everything was perfect!

We are tent campers who got too old. We loved having a firepit and chairs where we sat outside in the cool nearly every evening till bedtime, reading, doing crosswords, studying, writing.
the view is good

We loved the location and rustic interior of this home. We had a lot of rain during our stay and this home made it cozy and warm with the gas fireplace.

Spacious, clean and comfortable. Private great location.
Lori K. Sep 2021
We loved the house and the location. Unfortunately it rained 2 of the nights we were there, so we were not able to take advantage of the fire pit. Everything was very comfortable and cozy.

Great time and loved the cabin and mountain and the wild turkeys

This cabin was perfect for our family vacation. Very quiet. Private drive that has other log cabins but they are spaced out really well. House is beautiful and well appointed.

So beautiful! Super cute and clean. We had the best time and did not want to leave! We will definitely be back 😄

Beautiful location in the woods at the top of the hill, away from all the tourists. Close to Cherokee and the entrance to the National Park. We stayed 5 nights and wish we could have stayed longer.

Cabin was well appointed, and very comfortable. Pretty much had everything you needed to cook with. Would recommend adding a stovetop griddle for making pancakes and such. Stove has a griddle burner so having one would have made it perfect.
Cabin was stocked with enough toilet paper, paper towel, dish soap, dishwasher soap, hand soap, laundry soap and gas for the gas grill.

Loved the rockers on the porch and the chairs around the fire pit. Spent almost every night by the fire roasting marshmallows. Thou the cabin did have any, we purchased and left behind a couple marshmallow forks for others to enjoy as well.

Booking was very easy. They communicated everything very well. We had no issues with our arrival (we arrived very late at night) and it was easy to get into the cabin.

Can't say enough positive comments about this cabin. Not only would we book again, but we have. Heading back in the fall!

This beautiful log cabin was perfect for our family of four! And having a white Christmas just gives it all that magical feel and look. We also loved going on walks and seeing & feeding the donkeys. New & comfy chairs by the fire pit outside.
The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to cook your own meals, we did that every day. New gas grill outside made for easy quick grilling of our meat everyday. We did ran out of propane but luckily the very last meal we cooked.
Initially had an issue with the bed that was still broken even though I have asked if this was fixed before making our booking. We fixed it ourselves however the property management did respond quick and came out to asses and attend to other small issues (clogged drain..this is most likely from previous visitors putting stuff down the drain i.e. oil or such).
The place could really do with a good deep clean and carpets and bed covers definitely need a clean. I feel the check out cleaning is a bit much, as per note they will charge you extra for cleaning if they feel you left the place in a mess yet our bedroom wall decor and ceiling had spiderwebs galore. I understand its in the woods and spiders are everywhere but if their is a cleaning crew surely this should be taken care of before new visitors arrive, we could only check in at 4pm but have to check out by 10am...I get that you take off bedding and start a load and load dish washer but to also pack everything away is a bit much....why the cleaning fee then if we basically do everything.
On a side note I would also suggest to either increase the heat of size of the water heater as for a family of 4 the water was never hot..if you were the first to shower you got lucky for about 5minutes then the water is luke warm didnt even need to open the cold water.
Overall we loved the place and had a great time....will definitely love to go back.
Manager response:
Hi Mary, Thank you so much for your feedback and we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay! We are so sorry to hear about the issues you experienced. We have deep cleaned the property since your stay to ensure everything is crisp and clean for all our future guests. While we do appreciate if guests are able to tidy up and start a load of laundry before their departure, this is not required and we apologize for any confusion on the expectations for the check-out processes. We are surprised to hear about the hot water issues as no other guests have mentioned this, but we will look into this to ensure everything is working properly and our guests are able to comfortably shower. Again, we are so happy you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to hosting you again sometime soon!

First time staying here... the pictures do not do it justice! The cabin is situated atop a hill that overlooks trees and you can see the sunset/mountains in the background. The cabin itself was clean, well-stocked with all of the essentials for cooking, using the fire pit, etc. We enjoyed how close it was to some of the fast food options (McDonalds, Dominos, etc) and how close it was to the entrance of the Smokey Mountains (~15 minute drive). As an added bonus, there is a neighboring farm to the property and we got to see a pair of llamas! We would definitely stay here again.

All of it!

A private cabin on top of the hill. My husband and I stayed for 6 nights and we enjoyed the cabin immensely. It felt warm and cozy. The wildlife surrounding the cabin along the fence were an added bonus. Bulls, cows, llamas, donkeys and turkeys, bush crickets ( I mention this because the sound at night is really amazing). The bed is very comfortable. We didn't use the upstairs but we found the downstairs very acceptable. We consider returning next year.

This beautiful log cabin was perfect for our family of four! The farm animals down the road were a perfect added bonus! We highly recommend and will be back!
Robert S. Aug 2020
Looking forward to our next stay. Private hilltop location close to town, farm animals, hawks, great sunsets and evening campfires...
William B. Aug 2020
The location is ideal, if you cherish quiet and nature. Only problem was the exhaust filters over the stove appear to have never been cleaned. We had a few minor issues, which were addressed immediately by Vacasa staff.
Thad O. Jul 2020
Great cabin with amazing views and plenty of farm animals nearby. The cabin has plenty of space for 4 people with great indoor amenities. Would highly recommend this cabin or any of the other 4 on the property!!
Timothy J. Jun 2020
Enjoyed this cabin a lot. Very peaceful, quiet location. Just outside of town, but still close to a lot of nice areas to see in the mountains.
Alex B. Mar 2020
Excellent place to stay on top of a hill in the mountains of North Carolina. Located just 10 minutes from the entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Ambra L. Feb 2020
The unit was very nice and comfy. Had everything I needed to be comfortable. Only issue was the cleanliness of the unit.. there were a lot of cob webs and dust.

Great location to all activities. Everything you want in a cabin.
Marisela U. Oct 2019
Loved this cabin and location. We were there trying to catch the Fall and fell in love with the area. The cabin was very quaint and exceeded our expectations. Thank you Vacasa!
Garnet E C. Oct 2019
Our 5 night stay was very enjoyable. The cabin is in a beautiful forest at the top of the hill. Not much wildlife around. Cabin is clean and comfortable. Kitchen is equipped with most everything you need. Loved the gas stove. Furniture in the living room was comfortable. Gas fireplace is just for visual effects. It has absolutely no heat value. All the heat goes straight up the chimney. I did smash a huge black spider in our bedroom the last night. Glad I seen it on the floor before I crawled in bed. LOL. All and all we enjoyed the cabin. Very convenient to Cherokee and the Smokey Mountain National Park.
Sally P. Sep 2019
This was an amazing cabin in the woods. So easy to get to and so comfortable. Everything was there that we needed. and the views were wonderful.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at The Hilltop. It was the most relaxing trip I’ve ever been on! The cabin was perfect for just the two of us. It was so beautiful and cozy. We enjoyed the scenery as well as the quaintness. We felt secluded which is what we were looking for, yet we were only a few minutes from a grocery store, fast food, and the casino. We drove into Gatlinburg which wasn’t a bad drive either. We are planning on going back and taking our children with us. The Hilltop at Country Acres would be absolutely perfect for a couple or even a family. We will definitely be booking again in the near future!
Erin D. Sep 2019
So enjoyed our stay! The cabin was fully furnished, neat and beautifully decorated- as the pictures suggest. Enjoyed the porch in the morning and fire pit at night. We felt nestled in the mountains! Took advantage of the tubing on the river, horse riding and shopping/dining in Bryson City! Great weekend with friends- would love to return with the family!
Joanne B. Sep 2019
Really enjoyed a 4 day vacation at the hilltop, it was an excellent location for travelling to the smoky mountains and surrounding areas.
The cabin is small and quaint but perfectly equipped with all things visitors would need.
Lyndon C. Sep 2019
This cabin is wonderful. It's woodsy but still close to everything we wanted to do. Wild turkeys joined us for lunch and the cows right next to us were well behaved. The short drive back to the property is also gorgeous. We'll return.
Gayle M. Sep 2019

The setting is very good.
Dianne J. Jun 2019
Everything! View, outside fire pit and chairs the house , only thing we missed was a recliner. My husband has some heart problems and needs to put his legs and feet up and there was no recliner for this . Other than that , all was great .
Nanette B. Jun 2019
My husband and I spent a week there and wished it could have been two weeks. It was peaceful and the view was beautiful. We enjoyed the birds and animals. Some came to visit at night and peeked at us through the door. One wood pecker caused quite a rukus. I am afraid he is going to damage the house. We liked it enough to book it for next year before we left. Thank You.
